THE FITNESS ASSESSMENT – Why are fitness assessments important?
Once a goal has been set, you must assess! Before embarking on any journey outside of your “territory”, you must not only pick your final destination carefully, but plan properly to ensure a safe and timely arrival. The same is true when embarking on a fitness journey, especially if a transformation is your final destination.
If you are adventurous and like to travel on a whim you could jump in the car and drive, asking for directions along the way. You may get lost, asking assistance from random people and with a little luck you may end up somewhere you like or even love. But even in that best case scenario would you remember the way you got there? What if you ended up right back where you started, or even worse in the wrong place at the wrong time?
The same goes for choosing a health and fitness destination. It doesn’t matter how far you plan on going but traveling without a plan could be disastrous. Having a plan is like having a map; having a trainer is like having GPS. Some consider GPS as a luxury or even expensive, but we call it smart traveling! Regardless of your goal, whether it be weight loss, muscle building, or gaining endurance, it’s important that you have all of the proper tools to get you to that goal.
